With the autumn season on the horizon, getting back to school seems to be on everyone’s mind. Preschools and kindergartens are establishing protocols for children to return to their educations with new procedures to ensure their health and safety while they develop new skills. In these times, finding a safe learning environment for your child to attend in the fall is probably at the top of your priority list.
Before any child attends kindergarten, many parents choose to enroll their child into a pre-kindergarten program. Pre-K programs are incredibly beneficial for any child, improving their aptitude in:
-
Literacy & Reading Rates
-
Critical & Creative Problem-Solving Skills
-
Social Awareness
-
Standardized Tests
-
Self Confidence
-
And so much more!
So how do you find a no-cost, high quality, and safe prekindergarten program that doesn’t limit your child, but instead guarantees their educational growth into kindergarten and beyond?
Luckily, Open Doors Preschool is proud to announce that their Gold Standard VPK programs are open for enrollment with new and extensive safety protocols!

What is VPK?
The Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program (otherwise known as VPK) is a FREE educational program for early learners to prepare for success in kindergarten and beyond.
The VPK program mission is to ensure your child is ready emotionally, socially, physically, and intellectually to enter a standard school environment. Allowing your child to attend a prekindergarten VPK program sets their potential for success on the right track. In the 2017-2018 school year alone, nearly 80% of 4-year-olds in Florida attended a VPK program.
The program highlights standards for high literacy, small class sizes, accountability, substantial educational periods, and qualified instructors among others. Children who graduate from the VPK program are statistically proven to achieve more in kindergarten than those who do not.
VPK lays the foundation for achievement: children who attended a VPK program scored higher on standardized tests, are less likely to drop out of school, have a comprehensive understanding of social situations, and cultivate their emotional and problem-solving skills at a higher rate than children who did not attend a VPK program.
By using developmentally-appropriate materials catered to your child, qualified instructors are able to evolve your child’s potential to the next level.

The Gold Standard VPK Program
For the last 10 years, Open Doors Preschool has offered a safe, highly accredited VPK program for children in the Florida area. Open Doors operates year-round VPK programs that serve over 100 children each term who go on to achieve success in their kindergarten programs.
Our highly skilled staff uses the VPK premium education materials to teach your child in a stimulating and creative environment. We value warm, nurturing relationships between teacher and child to ensure that your child can build an understanding of relationships while establishing long-term connections to the VPK material.
Our VPK program highlights child-initiated and teacher-play activities. Outdoor play, small group activities, artistic education, and creative exploration are just a few of the activities that Open Doors Preschool offers in addition to the age-appropriate VPK activities. Our Gold Seal accredited system enables your child to succeed to their fullest potential.
Open Doors Preschool is dedicated to prioritizing your child’s safety and health. We maintain clean, sanitized environments on a daily basis while our staff follows the protocols for safe education environments as set by Florida law.
Your child deserves to be safe from any danger while preparing for their future, and Open Doors Preschool pledges to continue to practice high safety standards for your peace of mind.
How does my child attend Open Door Preschool’s VPK Program?
In order to be eligible, your child must live in Florida (or temporarily live in Florida) and be 4 years old on or before September 1 of the current school year. If your child is born between February 2 and September 1 of the current calendar year, you can postpone your 4-year-old attending a VPK program until the following year when your child is 5 years old.
Before you apply for enrollment at Open Doors Preschool, you must gain a Certificate of Eligibility from your local early learning coalition.
You can apply online from a computer, mobile phone, or any digital device by visiting www.familyservices.floridaearlylearning.com. Have your proof of child’s age, proof of Florida residency, and an email address ready. The coalition will review your application and email you with further instructions to complete.
When your application is approved, the coalition will send you the Certificate of Eligibility that you can provide to Open Doors Preschool.

I find it interesting when you said that parents would usually enroll their kids in a prekindergarten program before going to preschool. Now that I am going to have my own child, I would consider that as well to ensure that my daughter will be ready for schooling. And I want her to excel in many ways, so she will also gain confidence in herself as she grows older.
I pay a quick visit every day a few sites and websites to read posts
Hello, I enjoy reading through your article post. I wanted
to write a little comment to support you.
Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal. I must say you’ve done a amazing job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Safari. Excellent Blog!
